February Blues

Sunrise on a cold February morning

This may be the first month since I started this blog, that I have not been out at least one time in a month.  For many reasons I have not been out: family, sickness, the cold, housing issues, work and injury.  Originally, I planned to get out today, but the February Blues kept me inside for a read in my warm sleeping bag.  Yes, Chris Hiker likes the indoors also.

Last week I missed the money shot of my lifetime.  While driving up to Windham, the rain broke and the sun started to creep out.  Passing the overlooks on Route 23, a rainbow dropped into the valley below.  Pretty cool.  As I made my way past the trailhead  for the Escarpment Trail, a full blown rainbow appeared with Windham High Peak in its center.  The rainbow lasted for at least ten minutes and a double rainbow was visible.  I'll be carrying my camera with me for now on.
