Elvis Presley's Boyhood Home

My dad and I stayed in a motel the night before in Tupelo, MS.  There was a feeling in my gut that Tupelo, MS was famous for some reason and not for its honey.  I did a quick google search and instantly found out why it's famous.  With his lack of interests, my father is not the easiest person to travel with.  But I knew he would be interested in going to Elvis Presley's boyhood home.

Due to time constraints, we did not take a tour.  One can walk around the property without paying anything.  There is much there to see.  The flowers were in full bloom.  It's amazing the one of America's most famous icons grew up in such a modest house.  It was built by his father and doesn't even appear like the height of the ceilings are high enough to walk in standing straight up.  This turned out to be a great stop.

  1. Elvis is my music hero. And now I'm really pissed that you made it to his birthplace before I did. Ugggh. Now Graceland should be your next stop. Ooof!!!

  2. My mother loves Elvis. She cried for three days after he died. When I was a kid, she used to play his music almost every day. I eventually came to hate it.
