Spring Has Sprung in the Hudson Valley


Although I woke up when the temperature was in the high 30s, Spring has truly arrived in force.  In less than two weeks, the trees went from completely bare to a vibrant green.

I went to Ferncliff Forest to catch the early morning sun light up the Catskills.  It did not disappoint.  The lack of humidity and slight breeze made it quite enjoyable.



While walking by the library, I watched a woodpecker poking for food.  He did not seem to mind my presence at all.  Here's some more video.

  1. Nice photos. What a beautiful part of the country. Nice shots of the pileated woodpecker. The pileated was said to be the inspiration for Woody the Woodpecker.
