Virgin River Walk

Approaching the Narrows

Sorry, but no handouts from me

Virgin River

A nice swim hole

This happens to be the most popular walk in Zion National Park.  If I could have obtained a wilderness camping permit, I would have walked the Narrows (one of the great hikes in Zion along with Angel's Landing).

Today I settled for the crowds.  One thing I noticed immediately was the friendliness of the squirrels here.  The lazy tourists feed the squirrels creating lazy squirrels.  Apparently, bites from squirrels here are one of the leading causes for people to seek some medical treatment.

Despite this I had a great walk.  The Virgin River is a beautiful river to walk along.  There are some beautiful meadows along the river.  It's a remarkable sight watching the steep canyon walls inch closer the further along one goes.

  1. Now that swim hole looks like something you would find in the Hudson Valley. Color of the water is different though.
